Departmental Positions Available

Gene Therapy

At least two positions are available immediately for scientists with a Ph.D. degree to participate in research projects designed to develop gene therapy for autosomal dominant diseases of the retina. We have successfully used virally-delivered ribozymes to treat animal models of the blinding disease retinitis pigmentosa . Our goal is to take this approach further-to test this therapy in large animals and human patients and to apply it to other retinal diseases. We seek applicants with experience in molecular biology and/or virology who would like to join in this endeavor. Special consideration will be given to scientists with experience working with RNA or ribozymes and to individuals with experience in eye research. Salary will be based on the level of experience. Due to our funding sources, we must restrict consideration to citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
