Undergraduate preparation for graduate study leading to an MS in the
College of Medicine, an MS/MBA, or an MS/MSM should be wide in scope and include
general biology, physics, chemistry (including organic), and
biochemistry. Although not required for admission, undergraduate courses
in physical chemistry, genetics, and statistics are all appropriate for
graduate training. There are no special business prerequisite courses
necessary for admission as an MBA or MSM student. Students who wish to apply for
the programs must take the GRE, and those applying to the MS/MBA must also take
the GMAT. Students wishing to enter the MS/JD program must
take both the GRE and the LSAT exams. An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 is
required.
Those applying to the MBA (not required for MSM) should have a minimum
of two years post-baccalaureate work experience. Students should be complete self-starters with a desire to
create a niche for themselves and make
positive things happen. Students applying for the MS/MBA or MS/MSM should be
prepared for three years of demanding work. While the MS degree alone is
somewhat less demanding, it normally requires two full years of work.
